MANAGER | SOLLY LEVI

Founder and owner of “Amit Group Homes Ltd.” In partnership with her husband Raz Levi. Hostel manager since its founding in 1991.
Solly studied in Tel Aviv University’s engineering school, majoring in Industry & Management, and later took professional courses from the Ministry of Social Affairs and Social Services more specified to her work, including Boarding Home Management. As hostel manager and company owner, Solly deals with nurturing the staff as the primary tool for improving the services offered to Amit’s residents.

PERSONAL PROGRAMS AND EDUCATION COORDINATOR | RAVITAL BEN SADON

Holds a master’s degree in education, graduate of Wingate Institute’s Behavior Analysis course, Amit employee since 2003.
Ravital is responsible for the educational/cultural aspects of the residents’ routine, and for documenting each resident’s personal program. Ravital supervises the guiding staff, the teachers of the enrichment classes and the professionalized staff.

HOUSEMOTHER | CARMELA YA’AKOV

Certified caregiver, Amit employee since 1995. Carmela coordinates the caregiving aspects of the residents’ routine, everything relating to their physical needs (clothing, housewares etc.), supervises the operating staff (such as the cooking and cleaning staff) and works with suppliers and other outside parties needed for these matters.

OFF SITE APARTMENTS AND OCCUPATION COORDINATOR | URIEL ASHREI

Holds a bachelor’s degree in education, Amit employee since 1994. Coordinates the caregiving in the off-site apartments on Moshe Rabenu st. as well as the residents’ occupation. As Occupation Coordinator Uriel contacts appropriate workplaces and accompanies the residents’ integration process in the workplace. Workplaces are chosen according to what is available in the market to serve each resident’s will and ability.

RAETZ ST. HOUSE COORDINATOR | ABIR MYAT

Abir Joined the hostel’s staff as a guide in 2019.
In march of that year, when our house for residents with complex medical needs opened on Graetz st., she was incorporated there as well, and was sent by us to The Ministry of Social Affairs and Social Services’ certification course for caregivers.
She has been House Coordinator since January, 2021.
Abir coordinates all aspects of care the residents receive, via the house staff and the hostel’s professionalized staff.

SHIFT MANAGERS | MIRIAM HADAD

Miriam Hadad, certified caregiver, Amit employee since 2012.  The shift managers coordinate work in the hostel in the afternoon, utilizing the guiding staff and the professionalized staff.

GUIDES

Assist the residents directly and accompany them in all fields of life.
Each member of the guiding staff takes a unique training course when they enter the position and further on they take a series of courses that include first aid, enrichment workshops on caregiving, working with challenging behavior, academic days revolving around themes such as “report obligation law”, promotion program operation and more.
Every year the guides are sent to have their certification to work with developmentally disabled people renewed by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Social Services.

COOKING

The hostel employs a cook whose job is to assist the residents in preparing meals. Cooking is done according to menus constructed to fit the residents’ changing needs and preferences and is supervised by the nutritionist.

HOUSEKEEPING

The housekeeping staff, headed by the housekeeping manager, tends to the hostel facilities, sometimes getting assistance from exterior professionals for special jobs.

CLEANING

The hostel has a permanent cleaning staff who works daily and assists the residents in keeping their living spaces clean.

PROFESSIONALIZED STAFF

SOCIAL WORKERS | GAL BEN YA’AKOV

Gal Ben-Yaakov has been a Social Worker in Amit since 2016.
The Social Worker’s main job is to nourish the connections with the residents’ families and the different bodies in the community that affect the residents and their families. In addition, the Social Worker provides emotional support, leads social groups, and is responsible for the social-sexual field. She assists in all the workshops held in Amit, and teaches some of them herself. On a regular basis, Gal takes workshops and enrichment days held by The Ministry of Social Affairs and Social Services, and is sent to take special courses by Amit.

PSYCHOLOGIST | MENNI IZENBACH

Clinical psychologist, Amit employee since 2011. Menni meets with the residents for weekly one-on-one talks, and is a crucial and active participant in writing each resident’s personal program and in teaching different workshops to the residents and to the staff.

PSYCHIATRIST | DR. GINET SHAKED

Dr. Shaked is a senior psychiatrist with over 35 years of experience. She gives diagnoses, medicinal and psychotherapeutic treatments, and her professional opinion is valued in court, the National Insurance Institute of Israel, the IDF and other institutes.
Her professional experience includes: Freelance doctor for Maccabi healthcare services in Modi’in, manager of the Lod mental health Clinique, project overseer for the founding of a mental health therapy center in Lod, founder and manager of a rehabilitative unit for occupational counseling which assists in acquiring skills and placement for people suffering from mental illness and functional disabilities, presently manages the Ministry of Health’s legal psychiatry department. She has been working with Amit since 1994, offers personal appointments for residents who require her assistance, and cooperates with the professionalized and medical staffs.

 

MEDICAL STAFF, ALTERNATIVE MEDICINE AND THERAPY

HEAD NURSE | TIFERET OKSHI

The hostel’s nurse, Amit employee since 2007. Tiferet coordinates the medical treatment of the residents in cooperation with the exterior medical facilities.

ULCER EXPERT | IDIT EREZ KIDRON

Amit employee since 2015. Under her expertise in pressure ulcer Idit visits the hostel regularly to treat and document residents in need of her assistance.

PHYSICAL THERAPY | MUHAMD DSUKI

Certified physical therapist, gives personal and group sessions to the hostel’s residents, as well as the residents of the off-site apartments and the house on Graetz st., according to their needs and the medical instructions received by exterior doctors.

NUTRITIONIST | PAZ SUMAR

The nutritionist visits the hostel weekly, supervises the menu and assists the housemother in constructing a personal menu for each resident who needs it. The nutritionist is directly supervised by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Social Services, and cooperates with the hostel’s medical staff.

SHIATSU | AVI UZIEL

Shiatsu (Japanese: 指圧, “shi” means finger and “atsu” means pressure) is a form of contact therapy from alternative medicine. Originating from Japan, it is meant to treat orthopedic issues in the spine, neurological issues, digestive issues, gynecological issues, and emotional issues such as stress, depression etc. Avi Uziel is specifically certified to work with people with developmental disability, works with Amit since 1997, and alongside the personal treatments he offers he also operated therapeutic groups together with other professionals in the hostel.

PEDICURE AND MANICURE

Pedicure and Manicure sessions are offered regularly in the hostel by a trained professional to all residents who need them.

ANIMAL-ASSISTED THERAPY

A weekly activity in the hostel instructed by a certified therapist with the assistance of dogs. Residents interested in keeping pets receive guidance and assistance from the hostel staff.

PROMOTIVE AND PRESERVATIVE LESSONS

The hostel employs a certified teacher who comes weekly to deal with promoting the residents’ reading and writing abilities and preserving them. The teacher does her job according to the residents needs and abilities and utilizes various professional tools to fulfil her purpose.

ENRICHMENT CLASSES INSTRUCTORS

The hostel offers weekly classes in plastic arts, performing arts, sports and social empowerment. All the classes are instructed by professionals registered and supervised by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Social Services.
